National Cancer Institute – a great resource

National Cancer Institute (NCI) is part of the National Institutes of Health. NCI provides information about cancer, and the journey through it— such as finding local support groups and answering questions like, “What can I expect to experience?” “What questions should I ask my doctors?” “Where can I get financial, legal, or transportation help?” “What are the benefits—and side effects of various treatment plans?” “What’s a clinical trial, and what clinical trials are available?”

Use their website, printed information, or their phone line. NCI only asks you to share your name if you’re requesting something to be mailed to you. They only collect area codes – not phone numbers, and they don’t ask for donations. www.cancer.gov
