Broccoli

In labs studies, the compound sulforaphane in broccoli seems to kill breast cancer cells that aid tumor growth. Other compounds in broccoli seem to stop growth of prostate cancer cells.

Broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, collard greens, kale and turnips are all in the same family (cruciferous). They each hold generous amounts of cancer-fighting properties. They all contain fiber, vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, folate and calcium.
